Kristina Irobalieva was born in Sofia in 1982. She graduated from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-arts Villa Arson - Nice, France in 2006. During her studies she was accepted to study at Städelschule - Frankfurt am Main as part of the exchange program for students Erasmus - Socrates. After obtaining her Master's Degree, Kristina Irobalieva won a scholarship from the Swiss Government and specialized in Geneva University of Art and Design. She has received several awards and honours and has participated in solo and group exhibitions in France, Switzerland, Germany and Bulgaria. One of her last appearances was in Basel - "Swiss Art Awards".

Lives and works in Geneva, Switzerland.

“My paintings are created by the sense of my inability to be part of a single culture or perspective. All my paintings, drawings and sculptures are a mixture of my visual relationship between characters inspired by my communist childhood and nostalgia for modernism.”
